True Life: I Mildly Hate Rompers
Hello my lovely reader! I’m definitely one of those obnoxious people who love fall. Now, I’m not a pumpkin spice girl, but I can’t say no to a good comfy sweater. With that said, here is my last outfit for the summer of 2017… hold your tears.
I’ve never been a romper girl. I know some of you are probably punching her computer or click out of the screen as you read further… but hear me out. I drink an excessive amount of water. With that said, I pee just as much. I don’t know how you romper lovers do it. It is impossible to get out of these things! The work! It’s outrageous.
On the bright side, the amount of time that you would have taken to plan an actual outfit can be geared towards actually taking off the romper to pee. Okay, that sounds like a minor plus. I’m still skeptical though…
My second issue with rompers is that they’re either incredibly boring or incredible intricate. You’ll see rompers with these insane sleeves and buttons in random, unneeded places. Luckily, I found this pretty interesting but still mildly low-key romper from American Eagle. I actually decided to try on this romper because of the fun lace up detail. It might even be fun to wear the top part of this romper as a shirt and throw a pair of high waisted jeans over… that would add to my issue above though… stay tuned I might report back.
Lastly, my biggest issue with rompers is that the shorts are always impossibly short. I feel like every fashion designer went to a meeting in NYC and planned that all of the shorts have to be itty bitty. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating, but why are they all so obnoxiously short?
To get around that major issue, I decided to pair this long cardigan over it. The cardigan hits mid thigh (where the romper should be hitting) so it makes it look as if my legs are much longer.
Pictures taken in good ole’ Albany the same weekend I went to Saratoga.
I’m sorry for being a romper hater. Hopefully you’ll still love my blog. This romper has slightly changed my mind, but you’ll most likely never see another romper on this blog/my body. I could possibly see myself trying a jumpsuit in the future because it would cut out my third/main problem… we’ll see.
What do you think about rompers? Does it bother you that the shorts are always way too short or do you think they’re perfect the way they are? Let me know in the comments down below.
As always,

Love it tho!! Such a cute post! I totally get your frustration tho. Especially with the complicated rompers. Like how?!?

I totally agree about rompers! They are always so short and I dont understand it.lol. I want to love them though since they are always so cute. I like the idea of the sweater though adding a little length.

Hopefully one day they’ll make rompers with longer shorts… fingers crossed that it happens soon! Thank you for stopping by Rebecca! 🙂

You made me laugh. I agree with you. Too short and not practical. I like the jumpsuits though. But that does not solve every problem!

I’ll stick to my easy-to-style dresses over a romper any day! I’m glad you agree 😊
