Summer Recap 2017
Hello my lovely readers! Our summer chapter has come to an end and fall is just around the corner. I couldn’t be more excited to throw on extra layers and pull autumn colors into my wardrobe. Before I do all that, I wanted to throw it back to a little bit of a summer outfit recap. This summer I’ve been really into floral patterns and maxi dresses. What was your go to?
I start out summer with a trip to Lavender by the Bay in Long Island. I absolutely love how this “edgy” outfit looked contrasted with the feminine lavender flowers. If you missed out on this post, I would definitely revisit this post because Lavender by the Bay is great destination to go visit if you’re ever in the North Fork of Long Island.
I always love stretching out dresses and tops into different outfits. That is why in this post I show how you can make a crop top appropriate just by simply throwing it over a dress. Now you really don’t have a reason why you can’t wear a crop top in public!
One of my favorite events that happened this summer was going to Her Conference in New York City. It was incredibly inspirational hearing from so many influential women. Since the conference, I’ve been diving into a few books. I’m half way into The Big Life by Ann Shoket and it is nearly impossible to put it down. Expect a post about it shortly.
I just graduated in May and my college has already had a reunion. A couple hundred of Siena Grads went to Saratoga Race Track and bet on horses. I talk about the reunion in my post What to Wear to a Horse Race.
My lovely cousin was married to the love of her life in August. The wedding included a beautiful ceremony, crazy dance moves, and pie. Plus, it was my first time visiting Virginia so I was over the moon about the whole experience. Fun fact: I’ve now been to 13 countries and 13 states. If you want to check out what to wear to a barn wedding and some more wedding photos check out this post.
There is this weird giddy feeling I have when I get to break out green pants for the fall. Check out this summer outfit transitioning into fall. Plus, I’ve added some new pins to my jackets and they’re pretty cool if I say so myself.
I finally admit my height in this post. Did you know I’ve been asked how tall I am because apparently my photos make me look much taller than I am? I’m not really sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing… I’ll let you be the judge of that. So if you’re an awkward height like me, check out this post on how to make sure your maxi dress isn’t swallowing you whole.
I finally decided to let you know a little secret about me… I hate rompers. Check out some weird reasons why I have a love/hate relationship with this fashion piece.
There you have it! That is my lovely farewell to summer… bring on the sweaters and jackets!
What was your favorite look or trend this summer? Let me know in the comments down below.

Beautiful outfits ideas. Really like the dress that you wore for your friends wedding. Oh, so lovely. I like rompers… on others! It is not a trend that I find comfy because they are often very very short. But I do love to wear the jumpsuits thought. On my way to read your post on Rompers. Curious to know the reasons why you don’t like rompers…

Thank you so much! So glad you liked them. It’s like you read my mind about the rompers! I’ve never worn a jumpsuit but maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to try it out. 😊

Loving all these outfits, especially the bib necklace in the first photo. Those lavenders are the *perfect* backdrop! Swoon!

So glad you liked them! The lavender field was definitely one of my favorite parts about this summer. It definitely came in handy for a great backdrop ☺️
