Fall Nail Polish Essentials

Fine, I give up. I’m obsessed with painting my nails. Everyone has their little tick and this one is mine. I can picture my roommates and close friends fist pumping in the air like John Bender in the Breakfast Club. I finally admitted it. For those who don’t know, I paint my nails on average 2-3 times a week… sometimes more depending how stressed I am. I admit, its a pretty sick obsession. As soon as I see one little chip of nail polish that just doesn’t look quite alright… the rest of the polish will come off. I mean, I never said I was perfect.

As a result of my sick obsession, you can be sure that I’m always on the hunt for a good polish. I’m normally a strict OPI girl, but after one shade from Essie caught my eye I decided to expand my horizon. CVS was having a great deal at the time that was buy three get one free. Normally, I’d just shop through TJ.Maxx or Marshall’s and find a discounted polish, but I was itching for a splurge session.

After picking up multiple nail polishes and putting them back, I decided on Petal Pushers, Winning Streak, Angora Cardi, and Barre with Me. I would love to meet the person who designs names for nail polishes. If you’re ever lacking inspiration for an Instagram caption go to the OPI or Essie website for some inspiration. Trust me, they’re literal geniuses. 

Petal Pushers: If you’re not getting the biker gang vibe from the name just picture yourself wearing this color riding a bike through crisp, fallen leaves. Okay, so maybe I’m the only one that thinks that kind of stuff when I buy nail polish but whatever. This color is great due to being a lighter version of an otherwise dark color.

Winning Streak: This color is my cup of tea. I’m a big fan of rich, dark colors like this one. It is the perfect mix of purple and grey to create this eery color perfect for Halloween.

Angora Cardi: This is my go to if I’m going for something a little daring on my nails. I’m not a huge fan of bright red colors on my nails because my nails so tiny, but I love this mix of purple, grey, and pink. It’s bold enough to say “oh, hello” but calm enough to be like yeah-please-leave-me-alone. My kind of polish.

Barre with Me: The name on this one got me because I recently tried barre and it was the definition of d-i-s-a-s-t-e-r. During the routine, I felt like I was going to die and I was sore for days later. Regardless of the near death experience, I fell in love with this color. I normally don’t go for light colors but this color was the perfect mix of nudes and feminine pinks. I’ve been wearing this color the most out of the four.
