Thanksgiving Day Outfit
Is November 13 too early to put up Christmas decorations? If you said no you wouldn’t be surprised walking into my house. Over the weekend, my mother put all six of our Christmas trees up. Yes, you read that right, six Christmas trees. We currently have four large trees and two small. We’re actually missing a tree because we threw one out last year. Our large trees consist of a folk art tree, antique tree, snowman tree, family tree, and animal tree. The two small trees have baby ornaments and cardinals. Be sure to be on the lookout for the Christmas spirit on my Instagram Stories.
With the drop of temperature and cheerful Christmas tunes blasting on the radio, I decided to pull out my favorite green scarf and lacy, sweater dress. There is something about a huge oversized scarf can instantly pull an outfit together. It doesn’t matter if you have a food baby or if you accidentally spill something on yourself… a big scarf is there for you.
Thanksgiving is actually a holiday my family never really celebrated the “traditional” way. My mom usually recruits field hockey players so she has never been around for a Thanksgiving. Normally, my father usually just smokes fish or grills steaks instead of cooking a traditional turkey. Some years we all picked a favorite dish and made that. Mine is always mashed potatoes (yumm)! Last year, was the first time we celebrated it the “traditional” way at my brother’s house.
This year, I’ll be traveling to my brother’s house again and I’ll be rocking this outfit. This outfit is perfect for Thanksgiving because its chic and will be able to hide my massive food baby. Plus, if I accidentally spill some cranberry sauce on myself I’ll be in the perfect position to hide it. Gotta love big chunky scarves! If you’re still thinking about your Thanksgiving outfit consider a big, chunky scarf like this one. It’ll hide your food belly, cover your spills, and add the perfect amount of color to your outfit.
What do you traditionally do for Thanksgiving? What is your favorite food? What do you plan on wearing for Thanksgiving? Let me know in the comments down below.
As always,
