Two winters ago, I was never a hat person. I thought they would ruin my hair and that I definitely didn’t need one. That winter was absolutely miserable. It was in the negatives for about two weeks and a hat was a necessity. The following year I decided I was going to be prepared and bought a Love Your Melon hat. This adorable hat gives back and will keep you warm all winter long.
About Love Your Melon
This wildly popular hat company took the world by storm in 2012. Two friends, Zachary and Brian, started Love Your Melon with the goal to give out 45,000 hats (a hat for every child battling cancer in America). Since then, the dynamic duo donated 6.2 million dollars to the fight against pediatric cancer and over 180,000 hats to children battling cancer. Today, 50% of net profit of all Love Your Melon products is given to support charitable programing. You can see the list of charities here. All products are also made in USA and Canada.
Keep that Noggin’ Warm!
Between 45-80% of your body’s heat is lost through your head. That means if you really want to stay warm, why not protect your little head with some warmth. Come January and February, you’re going to want your head protected from the elements.
The Pom Pom is Detachable… I Didn’t Know That
I bought this hat last year and decided to wear it to a ski resort with my boyfriend’s family. My boyfriend and I were joking around and he grabbed the big, black puff ball on top of my hat. It snapped off and we both looked at each other in pure horror. Turns out there is a clasp for the pom pom so you can easily wash your hat. You can even change out the ball so that you can get different looks with the same hat.
Not a Beanie Person?
Love Your Melon also has mittens, blankets, headbands, scarves, and socks. Although they are known for their beanies, their whole array of items is adorable. Personally, I’ve been eyeing their blankets for a while now and think I might get one down the road. Also, every Black Friday they come out with a Santa hat beanie that sells out immediately. One day I’ll get my hands on that adorable hat!
