November Recap 2017

I cannot believe the year is almost over and 2018 is just around the corner. Do you just lose all sense of time once you become an “adult”? Seriously, I feel like I just graduated and I’ve already been six months out of college. Please make it slow down!

November was very good to me this year. I was able to travel to Boston with my friend, travel New York City for work, visit Robert in Long Island, and I even went all the way up to Albany for Thanksgiving. During the busy month, I picked up a few favorites…

IMG_6224.jpg

Favorite Makeup Product: Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara

Marc Jacobs by Marc Jacobs designed by Marc Jacobs and advertised by Marc Jacobs is fantastic. (Hopefully, you caught my sarcasm with the name). But for real, I’ve been falling hard for this mascara because of how full it makes my eyelashes. For someone who has little eyes, mascara is the best item to make an impact. I’ve noticed I can’t really cheap out on mascaras because of how easily it flakes off my eyelashes. Thus, I splurged a little bit more and picked up this mascara. I usually put on two coats on both my top and bottom eyelashes and call it a day.

Scents: Comfort from Bath and Body Works

If you read this post, you know I’m actually obsessed with this scent. Patchouli is now my favorite smell in all the world. I’m currently fighting my desire to buy all of Bath and Body Work’s comfort products. Trust me, it’s harder than it looks. Right now their candles are 50% off so make sure you pick up this comfort candle… you won’t regret it!

Favorite Purchases this Month: Earrings from Francescas

1st top (sold out), 2nd top, 1st Bottom, 2nd Bottom.

These four earrings were part of my Cyber Monday purchases. I was able to score the first two earrings for $5 each and received 30% off the bottom two earrings. Since I received them in the mail, I’ve been wearing the bottom two nonstop. They add the perfect amount of pizzaz to any outfit. I also purchased a dress from Francescas… be sure to be on the look out for that. It’s defintiely not what you’re expecting.

Outfit I’ve been loving: Thanksgiving Day Outfit

Something about this oversized scarf paired with this lacy dress gives me all the feels. Plus, it does help that my favorite color is the accent piece in this look. If you’re ever nervous about wearing a tighter dress just throw on a giant scarf… you won’t even be able to notice if the dress is tight or not.

Favorite Place I visited: Bryant Park in New York City

When I traveled to New York City for a copywriter’s conference, I had free time before my friend finished her day of work. I decided to wander into Bryant Park because I knew that they had their annual Christmas market going on. The market is comprised of little glass huts filled with all sorts of goodies. I ended up buying a handmade ornament, churros, and an empanada.

Best Food I Consumed this Month: Bagelworld Bagels in Brooklyn and Union Square Donuts in Boston.

There is this bizarre feud between New Jersey and New York City when it comes to bagels. Both places love to tell me that their bagels are the best, so I decided to find out for myself. After eating countless bagels in New Jersey when staying with friends, I decided to try out a Brooklyn bagel. Sorry, New Jersey, but Brooklyn understands bagels. I’m still thinking about the delicious everything bagel I had.

As for Union Square Donuts, if you’re in the Boston area you need to go venture out to this donut shop. Usually, I really only like the frosting part of the donut but the actual donut was out of this world. It was this doughy masterpiece coated with dark chocolate. *Insert Homer Simpson drooling*

Favorite View I’ve seen: Sunset in Long Island.

When I visited Robert in the beginning of the month, he took me to see this beautiful sunset. There were two children and one man fishing while we watched the sun dip below the clouds. I could watch sunsets on the beach every day and not get sick of it.

AudioBooks I’m Loving: Tales from the Back Row by Amy Odell and Over-Dressed The Shockingly High Cost of Cheap Fashion by Elizabeth L. Cline.

Amy Odell is a pure genius. She is whimsical, alluring, and I seriously want to be her best friend. She talks about high fashion and the fashion world in such a pure and genuine way. It would be hard not to fall in love with her. She talks about bloggers that have made it big in the world, how to get seen in fashion week, and all of the struggles associated with the high fashion scene. If you love fashion and one day want to see New York Fashion week in all it’s glory (or chaos) this is definitely an audiobook you should listen to.

I was hesitant to Elizabeth’s book on here because I still have about two hours left in the book. However, I’ve been hanging on Elizabeth’s words like an elastic waistband clinging to your skin. The research she has put into this book discussing the actual economic, social, and political cost associated with fast fashion is intense. I’m not even finished with the book yet and she has changed my entire thought process when it comes to fashion. If you’re someone who loves trends but wants to start investing in real, high-quality pieces this is the book for you.

Favorite Quote of the Month: “A strong woman accepts both compliments and criticism graciously, knowing that it takes both sunshine and rain for a flower to grow,” Mandy Hale.

What were your favorites for the month of November? Let me know in the comments down below.

Camouflage: The Most Underrated Pattern in Fashion

Camouflage doesn’t get nearly the enough attention it should. Normal patterns and textiles like lace, floral, cheetah, leopard, polka-dots and stripes suck up all the attention and leave nothing for poor, ole’ camouflage. Which is weird because this wasn’t always the case. In 1943, Vogue was the first to recognize camouflage in the fashion world. Eventually with the war, artists and fashion designers like Andy Warhol, Christian Dior, and Nicole Miller it would become a national phenomenon.

I admit I wasn’t always the biggest fan of camouflage because I never realized how many different patterns there are. I was used to seeing camouflage for strictly hunting purposes such the patterns Mossy Oak and RealTree. According to Heddels, there are 12 distinct camouflage patterns used in modern day fashion. I was completely unaware of all 12. That was until I decided to break out of my comfort zone, yet again, and purchase my first camouflage piece. IMG_4549.jpg

Tip: Pair camouflage jackets as a neutral statement piece.

When I saw this camouflage jacket in Francesca’s, I knew it would soon be put in a bag and carried home. Don’t be fooled by the clear skies and dry hair, this jacket is actually a rain jacket. I decided to style the jacket like a normal jacket to give my outfit an extra fun pattern. Sometimes when you’re trying a new pattern might as well go all out. If you’re willing to do so, pair the pattern just as you would pair a neutral color. Pair it with other patterns and loud colors… after all, fashion is supposed to be fun.

Tip: If you want to tone down the camouflage, pair it with colors you would regularly see in nature.

When taken out of a natural environment camouflage changes from a textile intended to conceal to a textile intended to make a statement. If you’re worried about making a loud statement with this pattern, pair it with colors the pattern would naturally be around. Colors like browns, blacks, olives, and even oranges can make the pattern seem less bold.

Camo Rain Jacket

Camo jacket

Biggest Reason: Adding a camouflage creates an instant chic vibe to any outfit. If anything, it makes it seem like you know something about fashion. (I’m still trying to pull that off).

By taking off the jacket this outfit doesn’t have nearly as much of a “wow” factor as it has with a camouflage jacket. The extra pattern and layer add so much to an outfit, which is why I’m so obsessed with the textile as of lately. Don’t let a new pattern freak you out, you’ll rock it just like you rock your classic stripes.

Camo jacket

Have I convinced you that you need camouflage in your life? Here are five options that I’m obsessed with. I currently own the American Eagle jeans but I’m seriously eyeing the other four items. I mean the jacket from J.Crew…

J.Crew Jacket,  Aerie Leggings (sale),    Express Shirt,     Lulu T-shirt,     AE Jeans (sale)

What do you think about camouflage? Do you own any camouflage or would you? Let me know in the comments down below.

What to Wear to a Summer Barn Wedding

Hello darling! This past weekend my cousin, Sarah, got married. It was a wedding straight out of a fairytale. Everything was done perfectly including the live band, flowers, food, and out of control dancing. My family busted more moves than one and moved in directions I didn’t even know existed. As my mom says, we really did ‘bust a rug.’

I’ve only been two other weddings, one where I was a flower girl and one where I was a guest. So, you may say I’m a wedding amateur. As a result of this, my outfit tips are from the experience I had at this Virginia barn wedding and hot days in general.

Virginia Summer Barn WeddingVirginia Summer Barn Wedding

Tip: Pick a material or silhouette that can breathe.

Whatever you do… do not wear cotton. Cotton holds in heat and will be sure to make you a hot, sweaty mess. I purposely decided to wear this dress because of how the bottom of the skirt moved. If this was a tighter dress 1. I wouldn’t be able to eat as much as I wanted  later on and 2. I would be a sweat monster. Thus, when looking for a dress make sure either the material itself can breathe or the style of the dress is breatheable. By the way, this dress is on super sale right now for $15.

Tip one: Pick a light color so that if you do sweat no one can tell.

So it’s probably going to be inevitable that you’re going to sweat on a hot day in August. So, do yourself a huge favor and buy a light colored dress (not white!) so no one can tell. Regardless of this dress being breatheable, I was still sweating. So, aim for a light color with a pattern on it so it is even less noticeable. Black and navy are also a great options to hide sweat marks but it will make you hotter due to the dark hue.

Virginia Summer Barn Wedding

Tip: For a purse, carry something small but not too small. You don’t want to lug around a huge tote bag, but you also want to make sure you can carry around the essentials.

I actually purchased this envelope clutch the day of the wedding at an outlet directly across our hotel. The clutch was originally $122 (yikes!) and I purchased it for $35. I couldn’t find a link for this clutch online so if you want it (and you want to put a ring on it) hop on over to an outlet near you. It comes in black too!

Don’t forget to pack the essentials: sunglasses, chapsticks, small change, wedding card, and cell phone.

Virginia Summer Barn Wedding

Virginia Summer Barn Wedding

This one is important…

Tip: Take as many pictures as you can with your family and friends.

It isn’t very often that I get to see my whole family at once, so when we do get to see each other we try to make the most of it. One of my brother’s lives in Arkansas and another lives in New York. Now that I’m living back in Connecticut, it isn’t very often that I see my brothers. Make the most of the wedding by taking pictures, dancing up a storm, and celebrating the loved ones getting married. You’ll want to remember everything by these wonderful pictures. P.S. Don’t forget to use the wedding’s hashtag!

But really, how beautiful was this wedding location? They had it down to a science from the band to the ceremony. So here is to Sarah and Justin for moving onto their next chapter.  I couldn’t be happier for them.

Do you have any tips for attending a hot wedding? I’ll be attending two weddings next summer so I’ll definitely need a few tips for next year. Let me know in the comments down below.

72 Holiday Gifts for Her

Hello darling! Are you at a loss for what you might want to give to that certain someone? I put together photo sets from nine different stores that will hopefully give you a few ideas on what to get that certain girl. I hope this gives you at least some kind of inspiration on what to give to that special someone.

American Eagle.

Anything from American Eagle would be a safe gift for anyone because they sell basics with a unique flair. Not only are their pieces unique but they also last forever. You’ll literally give a gift to someone that lasts forever. For example, I still have the same jeans from freshman year of high school because they’re still in perfect condition. If you know someone who typically wears things that have lace or random elements on them I would try looking at American Eagle.

Current promotion: 40% off and free shipping, jeans buy one get one free, $15 pjs, $20 sweaters.

american eagle.jpg

Francesca’s

Francesca’s is definitely the perfect store for the girly girl hostess. They have such a wide arrange of fun nicknacks such as cheerful pillows, fun accessories to throw in your purse, coloring books, and decorative signs. The store offers adorable lacy clothing that is sure to appeal to the girly girl. If you don’t want to gift clothes, I would definitely recommend looking at their jewelry selection and their home gifts selection.

Current promotion: Home & Gifts buy one get one 50% off and Bogo mixer buy one get one 50% off.

francescas .jpg

Tobi.

The next two stores are definitely stores for the girls who are trying to try out the newest trends. Tobi has a wide range of interesting clothing so if you see on someone’s wish list something like “off the shoulder shirt” or “unique shirts” I would look at this website. I’m literally obsessed with this velvet blazer and I’m sure your style guru will too.

Current promotion: All new products are always 50% off when added but right now they’re 60%. You also get 50% off your first order.

tobi.jpg

Forever 21

Just like Tobi, Forever 21 is definitely a store to go to for the trend setter. From overalls to statement necklaces you’re sure to find something for everyone here. Brace yourself if you plan on going its the actual store though. It’s like the gym the day after new years… everyone wants a piece of something. My recommendation? Buy everything online and make sure you get a gift receipt because their sizes tend to be pretty interesting.

Current promotion: $20 off when you spend $100 or more. 70% off winter items.

Sephora

Okay, I don’t know what it is about make up but girls go insane about it! It’s something to do with the pretty colors and getting to look a certain way. Anyway, there are tons and tons of kits and tricks you can get from Sephora. One of my top 10 favorite gifts I’ve ever received (#1 is a blanket) is the scent certificate. Okay, before you skip to the next store hear me out. You get a package of 5 different scents to try out and they you get this certificate where you get to buy a full roll on perfume. Since perfume is definitely something you can’t just get anyone, go for this because that way they in a way get a gift but they also get to pick out their present. Kind of a win win. Trust me its not a cop out like a gift card it’s a really cool present.

Current promotion: Check the sale section because some of these packages are on sale.

sephora.jpg

Bath and Body Works

If you only knew how insane I become when candles are in the mix. Okay, who doesn’t love candles. Okay, lame question I know. But they make any room warm and smelling like happiness. The best part? With some candles you can even get matching lotion, soap, hand sanitizer, and perfume. That may be going overboard but it is definitely an option! My advice is to not buy this online because you don’t know how it actually smells. If you really don’t want to go in person to buy things, I listed some great candles below.

Current promotion: Candles are half off right now ($12.50). Everything else is buy three get three free.

Urban Outfitters

Know someone who is incredibly difficult to shop for and they won’t tell you what they want? Well welcome to Urban Outfitters were everything hipster is right at your disposal. Things range from mirror trays, to sarcastic books, to random wall decor. Going in this store makes you feel like you’re in some type of universe, but their website is incredibly helpful and all sorted out like a charming charlie (only a few of you will understand that comment). When it doubt wander over to their book selection because thats where I go as soon as I enter an Urban Outfitters. If you’re trying to be productive click on their gift tag and you’re all set. There is even a men’s and a women’s section to be even more helpful.

Current promotion: $20 off 100.

AdoreMe

Through all of their social media presence on accounts like Facebook and Instagram, I’m shocked I haven’t heard of this company earlier. I was pleasantly surprised by the adorable sleepwear and active wear sections. My family always exchanges pjs on Christmas Eve and then opens presents in them the next morning. It’s a little tradition that has carried on year after year. AdoreMe’s pjs are perfect for the Christmas morning and opening up presents. They have a variety of different pants and colors that almost replicate Victoria Secret’s but for a more affordable price. You can see the similarity in the black button-down set. Also, I adore that you’re buying a set when purchasing things. For example, you’re getting both the top and at the bottom of each of the sets in the pictures below. But the real reason I added this website on my epic christmas gift list was their unique activewear selection. They have joggers with mesh pockets and leggings with mesh cutouts. They even have matching tops to go with the bottoms! Their activewear selection would be a great Christmas for everyone who loves to work out and look trendy while doing so.

Current promotion: 1 set $24.95 and free shipping!

adore.jpg

J.Crew

Trying to buy something for someone who is the definition of preppy? Head over to J.Crew and feast your eyes on all of the beautiful colors. You really cannot go wrong with anything form J.Crew, but you might want a gift receipt because sometimes the sizing is a little bit different on some items. Regardless, gifting any of their items are a great gift. I mean can you really go wrong with two fat otters on a sweater?

Current promotion: 50%-60% off everything online!

I hope this helped! You’re for sure to find a great present for that certain someone. Let me know if it did! Check back tomorrow to see my post about a gift’s that help the world.

Lark Fest: OOTD

Hello darling! Did you do anything fun this past weekend? I went to the 35th annual Lark Fest in Albany. Lark Fest is this magical day that tens of thousands of people go to. Albany closes down Lark street and creates the best atmosphere for anyone to enjoy. There are all of these funky, little vendors that sell crafts, food, handmade jewelry, and clothing. Almost everyone was out this past Saturday day celebrating the idea of Lark Fest.

I made an outfit post for Her Campus last week before the event, but I wanted to show all of my lovely readers what I actually wore. If you want to check out my post on Her Campus click here. If you have never heard of Her Campus I would definitely check it out (and especially Siena College’s chapter). Girls from colleges all over the world write for this one site.

Okay, okay enough of my Her Campus promo. I finally decided to show off the off the shoulder trend. I’m in love with this little number. I’m obsessed with the way the lace scallops on my shoulders and at at the bottom of the shirt. I think it gives the shirt and extra feminine look.

Since the top is actually a crop top, I wanted to be a little bit more modest and pair it with my favorite high-waisted Mango jeans. If you don’t own a pair of Mango jeans I highly recommend it. They’re the comfiest pair of jeans I own and they stretch like a rubber band. I purchased this particular pair when I was abroad last fall. They might have other pairs that are similar to it online or in stores.

You’ve seen these shoes again and again and I can’t stop wearing them! They’re so comfy and they add another texture to any outfit. Plus, they add a fall vibe to this otherwise summery outfit.

img_1073.jpg

Keeping up with adding fall elements, I decided to finally break out my fall bag! I got this radiant green bag from Kate Spade before I went back to school. I don’t think I’ve fallen in love more with a bag. I was between getting it in black or this green. I’m so happy with my decision. It’s the type of green that can go with almost everything and it still smells like beautiful leather. Yum!

As for the jewelry, I kept it pretty basic. I threw on my favorite gemstone necklace from Toyshop. I thought it went perfectly with the top because of where it hit. It it hit a little bit higher I don’t think the outfit would have flowed as nicely. I also threw on my Chole & Isabel feather bracelet (pictured here) and my  Francesca’s earrings (picture here). You may be able to see a small bit of the two rings I am wearing. I am sporting this adorable little shop in downtown Troy. I’ll have to do another post and talk about them because I have fallen very hard for their jewelry.

img_1085.jpg

If you ever come to Albany you’ll need to check out Lark fest. It’s a once in a life time opportunity filled with fun. Does your hometown do anything fun like Lark fest? Could I possibly be missing out on fun events? Let me know in the commends down below.

Treat Yo Self- Haul June 2016

Hello darlings! Before you read any further, I just want to point out that these purchases have been over a month and have just started piling up. I figured I would share some of my lovely purchases with you guys because they make me warm and fuzzy inside. Plus, I love reading all your hauls so maybe someone gets that oogy-gooey feeling like I do.

It seems like this time last year I blogged about Bath and Body Works. It might just be that they always have a fantastic sale going on around this time. No worries I have some new goodies to show. Oddly enough, that post gets revisited time after time. Someone must just love looking at their colorful products… I know I do! I feel like every time I go into Bath and Body Works I get sucked into this other world. Luckily enough, there is a sale going on this week. If you haven’t checked it out already… go, go, go! Right now the original $22 candles are half off. You guys know my obsession with candles (my roommate, Courtney, admits that she is ready for all of the scented candles next year). I ended up purchasing 3.

IMG_8873.jpg

The Autumn Mums smells like florals with a hint of the generic Flesh Linen candle. The underneath of the candle says that the candle smells like “a floral blend of soft mum petals, amber and a hint of sandalwood.” I think that nailed it.

The next candle is the Baja Cactus Blossom.  This one really caught my eye because I didn’t really know that cacti had a scent. I really wish this candle had a lotion because it has the softest note of coconut that makes the candle so alluring. The back of the candle says that the scent is from the “alluring beauty of a cactus flower captured in a blend of fresh white flowers, green cactus stems and sun kissed coconut.” Not captured in my photos, the lid of this particular candle has palm leaves which makes a great addition to my candle collection.

The last candle is the sweet Paris Lavender Macaron. This candle says that it smells like “lavender blossoms with a delicate patisserie cookie,” but I smell something completely different. When I smell this candle, I smell a sweet vanilla, cinnamon, and cream cheese frosting. This particular candle I think should be burned for a little because it is stronger than the others.

.
I also ended up getting something that I’ve never purchased before. I ended up getting this adorable car freshener and 4 different scents. I admit, it took me a little while to actually figure out how to insert the scent. Once I figured it out the first time, it’s easy to change. I have a soft spot for candles and cacti so I guess Bath and Body Works knows the way to my heart. The scents right now are 4 for $10. Which isn’t too bad considering they’re normally $3.50. They also have more adorable holders than this cactus. For example, they have a margarita glass, anchors, turtles, and flowers.

IMG_8933.jpg

Going along with the car theme, I’ve been looking for a keychain for my car keys. It’s just been a little hard finding them in my purse so I just wanted a little tassel. I found this one at DSW and thought it was adorable.

IMG_8888.jpg

When it comes to shoes, I have trust problems. It’s very, very rare that I will fall in love with any shoes that aren’t Steve Madden. My boots are always Steve Madden. I don’t know what it is but he just seems to know what I like. So, naturally, going into DSW my eyes somehow always dart towards Steve Madden shoes. It’s almost pathetic. I was wandering the store looking for shoes for an upcoming wedding, and I had three different boxes… All Steve Madden. I ended up getting two lace up pairs of Steve Madden. Do any of you have a brand of shoes that you just can’t seem to escape?

The pair on the left is actually a little bit of a darker brown than the pair on the left but the picture disordered it a little. With that in mind I really like both of these shoes because they make your legs look longer. When you have shoes that are a similar tone as your skin, it plays a trick on the eyes by making your legs look longer. These sandals are incredibly comfy because they don’t have that thong in-between the big toe and other toes. I also love the lace up aspect of them. It’s a unique flare.

The pair on the right is such a show stopper. I’ve fallen in love with the lace up shoes ever since I bought my first pair in Ireland. You can see them here. Plot twist: they’re from Top Shop. The heel on these shoes are about 2 1/3 to 3 inches. I love that you can tie a bow either in front or back of your leg. Okay, that may seem really minor but it really makes a difference depending on what you’re wearing. For example, the dress I’m wearing to an upcoming wedding is very elegant and says enough without needing shoes to say more. Therefore, by putting the bow in the back of the leg plays down the shoe. If I was wearing a simple dress I would want the bow in the front. Regardless these shoes are a great addition to my shoe collection. P.S. the red on the shoes is from a clearance sticker… It is NOT blood! I don’t want anyone to be worried/alarmed!

I ended up going into Madewell. Madewell is actually a really new store to me. They are  partnered up with the lovely J.Crew but have a more youthful vibe. Many of their items are very clean cut and simple but have a little bit of a unique cut or style to them. For example, their plain shirts might drape a certain way. All of their jewelry is this funky gold color. I have a hard time describing it so if any of you know the proper term let me know in the comments. It’s a really unique quality their jewelry possesses. I ended up spending a lot of time looking at their jewelry and ended up with this ring that looks between a sun and a bullet wound (might look like a bullet wound to me because I’ve been spending a lot of time watching Lost). If you’ve never been to a Madewell shop it’s definitely a place you should check out. I forgot to mention, their bags are phenomenal as well. They have leather bags that you can initial or make them say whatever you want. I’m thinking about purchasing a simple leather bag for all my papers in the future.

Earlier this summer, I went to Maryland with my boyfriend’s family and met more of his family. I ended up purchasing this 100% vegan, cruelty-free roll on perfume. I love roll on perfumes because they’re so easy to throw in your bag and apply them on the go. They make a few different smells. If I see this brand again I think I’m going to purchase the grapefruit one next!

IMG_8860

Whenever you go into a place like Marshalls, TJ Maxx, or Nordstrom Rack you never really know what you’re going to come out with. Recently, I wandered around Normstrom Rack with my mom desperately looking for a dress for a wedding (I founded it but that is for another post… The anticipation I know)! I didn’t know where to begin looking for just normal shirts. I just looked at random racks here and there. I still don’t think I looked at everything. I ended up falling for this beautiful blue top. The way the top sits on your shoulders is incredibly flattering. I can’t wait to show you guys how I pattern this top a few different ways.

There are three dresses you will ended up seeing in future posts. I’m incredibly excited to show you the dresses and the experiences associated with them.

Like the Nordstrom Rack… Marshalls is just as good. I found these spring pattern shorts on one of the racks. I love this deep, rich green color and the funky blue pattern.

IMG_8877

Along with the shorts this breezy top was hiding in one of the racks. It has cutouts on the shoulders and flows everywhere else. This is a perfect shirt for a colder day because it would look phenomenal with white skinny jeans.

It is so hard going into American Eagle and not buying something. I plan on showing these three items in an outfit post so I had to just show them in a little sneak peak…

I love Francesca’s… what is not to love about their delicate jewelry pieces and feminine clothing. Also, they have the best accessory section compared to Urban Outfitters. I ended up getting this adorable flower case and matching mug. I’ve been looking at this mug since the winter and have finally shelled out the money to purchase it. I’m really indecisive if I should keep it as a mug or if I should transform it into a succulent platter. If you have any opinions let me know in the comments!

I love these sparkly earrings I picked up as well. I’ve gotten so many compliments on them  that I knew I had to blog about them. The outside rim is a faux looking wooden branch and the inside are filled with different sized gems. What isn’t to love?

IMG_8854

Obviously I needed help talking pictures so Butch graciously volunteered. He helped me pick out which item to photograph until he got distracted by this enormous frog that lives in our little coy pond.

As you read this post, I am moving to Troy. I’ve been offered a great position at the Children’s Museum of Science and Technology. I’m extremely excited to start teaching! I hope to update you more on Troy in a later post.

Monthly Favorites: January 2016

Hello darlings! I used to do monthly favorites a couple of times last year. I want to start doing them a little bit more frequently. They’ll range from favorite recipes to new videos I have found. I hope you enjoy!

I’ve always loved the “100 years of __” and I found this wonderful one showing 100 years of fitness! I thought it was so cool.

I’m obsessed with this candle from Bath and Body Works. It smells like if you put happiness into a bottle, filled it with red apples, and then sprinkled cinnamon on top. I am aware that it is a fall scent, but I’m someone who loves fall smells. I really can’t get enough of them. I’d be totally okay if fall lasted all year long.

IMG_8659.jpg

This month I’ve been obsessed with the color Bobby Dazzler by Butter London. I wore this color for New Years Eve and loved it. It’s such a statement nail polish because it looks like you put tin foil on your hands. All night long I kept looking a my hands admiring the color.

IMG_8661.jpg

My favorite jewelry of this month has to be these three rings from Francesca’s. I received them for Christmas and I have worn them very, very frequently. When I do a look book you’ll definitely see some of these rings in the pictures.

Favorite DIY of the month: My dream catcher! Mind you I only did one DIY this month, but I’m literally obsessed with how this came out. Every time I go in my room I look at it. If you missed my post on in click here.

Favorite photo of the month has to be this one. It was the first photo taken this year and I love it. It pretty much reflected how little I did over the winter break… thinking about that now that I have a few essays due next week!
