Leonid Afremov Inspiration

Okay, I admit it… I’m officially obsessed with Leonid Afremov. I mean look at him:

(Yes, he wears sweet shirts like that all the time).

I actually just spent the past hour going through every single painting of his. For those who don’t know who Leonid Afremov, he is Russian-Israeli artist who works daily with a palette knife and oils. His paintings are very unique from theory artists because of the palette knife and bright colors in his paintings. Leonid Afremov dealt with a lot of hate because he was Russian and Jewish. He moved to the United States in 2002 and was introduced to Ebay. He sold his paintings for hundreds and even thousands of dollars. Now he has launched his own sight and sells his prints and original paintings. If you want to see more of his paintings click here for his website.

Listed below are some of my favorites.

Freedom of Autumn Park

The Gateway to Amsterdam

Sea Regretta

Wedding Under the Rain

Cafe in Paris

The Sun of Sicily

When Dreams Come True

After School

White Street

Catamaran

Sunset by the Lake

Long Rain

Dance Under The Rain

Waltz (My personal favorite)

And like any other person… I got a little bit of fashion inspiration from Afremov. Here are some of the summer outfits I have created through Polyvore.

If you liked this post I did post about Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
Personally, I think the paintings are prettier but hopefully you get some inspiration from his amazing paintings. When I have a house of my own I’ll hang the Waltz right above my bed. Can’t wait!
