10 Things to Do in Las Vegas Other Than Drinking and Gambling

I’m so excited to share my recient experiences in Las Vegas. I went for three full days for work and was really able to see the PG version of Vegas. So what do you need to see while you’re here? Check out these 9 different attractions that don’t involve gabling or drinking.

Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign

Everyone needs to start off their trip with a trip to the famous Las Vegas sign. You’ll see this sign as souvenirs and copycats all over the city. Depending on what time you go to see the sign, there will be a line of people waiting to take the famous picture. You can easily stand to the side (like I did) to achieve the same exact photo. I asked a nice stranger to take mine and it worked out perfectly. If you would like to wait in line, there will be someone there to take your photo.

Neon Light Museum

From the Las Vegas Sign, I hopped into an Uber and headed up to see the Neon Light Museum. The admission into the museum is $20 and is very small. It was definitely a great place to take some awesome pictures, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re really interested in the history of neon lights. You can take a guided tour that goes over the history, or take a self-guided tour with a booklet they hand you. Nonetheless, I’m happy I went because I was able to take some amazing photos!

Slotzilla & Fremont Street

Right down the street from the Neon Museum is Fremont street. Fremont street is where all of the original casinos were and now a very large zipline! You can sign up for tickets online or at the gate. The entire process will take between a half hour or hour depending on how long the line is. Unfortunately, I ran out of time to do this. It is very high up!

Note: the Uber driver that drove me to the Neon Museum recommended that I take either a cab or an Uber ride to Fremont Street. The strip from Neon Museum to Fremont street is not the safest if you are alone. If you are with a group I think it is fine.

The Venetian

The Venetian is a crazy sight to see because the entire time you’re inside this gorgeous building, you think you’re outside. Throughout the building, a river flows underneath walkways and next to restaurants. Gondolas flow on the river and, when it is warm, the outside opens up for the gondolas to go outside. I definitely recommend walking around and eatiner dinner here.

The Shoppes at the Venetian

Along with the adorable river, the shops are just as cute! You can find a few expensive stores and also little gems like Sugarboo & Co (pictured above). I highly recommend popping in and out of the stores. I ended up getting hooped earrings with little gems.

The High Roller

This was one of the best things I did while I was in Las Vegas! The High Roller is a giant Ferris wheel ride that takes 30 minutes. You can choose to ride with an open bar or a cart without a bar. We decided to go with the open bar. The view was well worth seeing and we were even able to catch the Bellagio fountains dancing from above.

The Mirage Volcano

I stayed in the Mirage and was told about the volcano show as I arrived. It is definitely an underrated event that happens 8 pm and 9 pm Sunday-Thursday and 8 pm, 9 pm, and 10 pm Friday and Saturday. The fire dances to music and it is an amazing site to see! If you’re curious what it looks like, check out my “Travel” highlight on Instagram.

Bellagio Fountains

Right after you see the volcano show, walk down a few blocks and see the Bellagio Fountain dance to different music. You can see the view from the High Roller or in front of the fountains. From 11 am to 8 pm the show happens every half hour and from 8 pm to 12 am it occurs every 15 minutes. You can also view this on my travel highlight.

Bellagio Garden

After you go see the fountain, make sure you stop by inside the Bellagio garden! The garden gets changed over every three months and is absolutely stunning. I went during the Chinese New Year season so everything was decked out in the year of the pig. There were also rows upon rows of dahlias (my favorite flower) so I was extra happy!
