I Tried Glossier for the First Time + Here is What I Thought

I’ll be the first one to admit, I am late to the Glossier band wagon. I’ve seen so many posts about how wonderful Glossier is and I finally decided to purchase some products. For those who don’t already know, Glossier prides themselves on being a very transparent company. They outline their entire Supplier Code of Conduct here. This transparency is exactly why I not only decided to shop there but also why I decided to share this today.

Super Bounce

I’m not going to lie, I didn’t need this product and it really just caught my eye because of the pretty bottle. With that said, I’m glad it caught my eye. Sometimes after you wash your face (even with a really good cleanser) your face just feels tight. If you put on this hyaluronic acid + vitamin B5 serum, it’s going to help your face not feel as tight. The cool thing about this particular product is that it has both the hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5. Hyaluronic acid works to help increase skin production which will help fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin B5 on the other hand works as an anti-inflammatory that can help your skin’s healing processes when you’re dealing with acne or stressed out skin.

Bubblewrap

My struggles with dark eye circles and dry skin around my eyes has been on this blog since the very start. I’ve tried literally everything. Eye masks, creams, lotions, cold spoons, tea bags… the whole works. So when I saw that Glossier had an eye cream I figured whats one more thing on my list?

Let’s get one thing straight: this isn’t going to drastically remove those dark circles. I decided to get this cream to really sooth and calm the skin around my eyes. Bubblewrap did just that. It’s the perfect light cream to put on before bed or even before you put on your make up. It’s smoothing and easy to blend. On a scale of water to acrylic paint, this cream is little thicker than a tear. The only downside, is this product has a funky smell to it. It sort of smells like a wet cat and melted plastic had a fight. I’d give this product a 6 overall due to the smell. I probably will not be buying again.

Milky Jelly Cleanser

I have to admit, I was extremely hesitant to try the Milky Jelly Cleanser because I am such a big fan of Ren Skincare’s Gentle Cleaning Gel. After weeks of Ren’s cleanser being out of stock, I decided I had to look elsewhere. I decided to pick up the Milky Jelly Cleanser because it was the ability to wash off make up. On a scale of water to acrylic paint, the cleanser feels like pudding (much thicker than Ren’s cleanser). I was super impressed by how easily it took of my make up. I also noticed that my skin wasn’t dried out or breaking out from the switch.

With that said, I would definitely still buy this cleanser especially if Ren was out of stock. However, I definitely still Ren over Glossier because I like the smell more and my skin feels bouncy after using Ren’s products.
